This sixth edition contains all the new medals established since 2003 such as the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Sacrifice Medal, the General Campaign Star and the General Campaign Medal. Several new United Nations and NATO medals are also included as are all the provincial medals that now form part of the Canadian Honours System. The Canadian Honours System makes up the first part of the book with the British Honours to Canadians in the second section. A foreign section featuring the United States, France, Australia and New Zealand gives some perspective to the Canadian system of honours. This book deals mainly with Official honours - those honours that emanate from the Sovereign and are created and modified by Royal Warrant of Letters Patent signed by the Sovereign are official awards. These also include United Nations and Truce Commission Medals accepted for wear by Canadians by Order in Council. The order of wearing of the medals is outlined in an Order in Council.
